A product design engagement for a NASCAR regional series — designing the live race experience for fans in the stands and at home. Real-time lap timing, driver positions, and precision scoring on mobile.
The product centers on the live race view: a leaderboard that updates in real time, lap-by-lap gap data, and a driver spotlight that surfaces the leader's current stats. The interface is designed to be readable in sunlight and operable with one thumb.
Precision timing was the technical and design challenge — displaying fractional seconds in a way that reads as live rather than refreshing. The solution uses tabular numerals and a subtle color pulse on position changes.
