Using gestures in motion
Most of the motion I see on websites is decorative. It's added at the end, after the page is laid out, as a layer of interest.
The motion that actually carries weight is structural. It tells the user where they are in the page and where they came from. A drawer slides from the side it's anchored to. A modal scales from the element that triggered it. A list item that's been deleted shrinks before it disappears.
When motion answers a question the user is already asking, you can use less of it. When it doesn't, more of it just feels like more of it.
